Rising music star Maya Blu has expressed her surprise after parting ways with Lynx Entertainment, the record label that helped nurture her talent. The singer, known for her hit “Good Girl No Dey Pay,” recently shared her thoughts on the unexpected decision, which came as a complete shock to her.

Maya Blu revealed that she had no prior indication that the split was coming. “It was a big shock because there was no disagreement or any hint whatsoever,” she said. Despite her surprise, she emphasized that she bears no ill feelings towards Lynx Entertainment. “It’s their label, and they can choose to take whatever decision that suits them,” she explained.

While Maya Blu didn’t go into the specifics behind her departure, she stressed that there had been no major issues during her time with the label. She maintained a positive working relationship with the management and was focused on her music. “We had an agreement, and so, if we have to part ways, I take that in good faith,” she said, making it clear that she holds no grudges.

Maya Blu’s departure follows rumors that Lynx Entertainment, one of Ghana’s top record labels, had recently dropped several of its artists. Among those affected were Maya Blu, Saint Lennon, and Kasar Music, who had been part of Lynx’s new talent collective, ‘BDSM.’ The trio had released a joint EP, Coming Soon, in the previous year.

Despite the setback, Maya Blu remains optimistic about her future in the music industry. She shared that she is taking the time to reflect and explore new opportunities. “Right now, I have new projects I’m working on, and I’ll get them going until a good offer comes my way,” she said. She added that she’s in no rush, focusing on recording new music at her own pace. “I’m just chilling here and taking things slow. I’m recording a couple of songs, and hopefully, I will be able to make something good very soon,” she said.

As Maya Blu continues to carve her path in Ghana’s music scene, fans are excited to see what comes next for the talented artist. With new projects on the horizon, it seems that this setback may be just the beginning of an even brighter future for the rising star.

Lynx Entertainment, founded by Richie Mensah 15 years ago, has long been a prominent force in Ghanaian music, with notable acts such as KiDi, Kuami Eugene, MzVee, and Asem having passed through its doors. As Maya Blu moves forward, it will be interesting to see where her next steps lead in her musical journey.
