On December 2, 2024, Adele gave a heartfelt goodbye to her Las Vegas residency, Weekends with Adele, during her final performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The show, which had become one of the most coveted tickets on The Strip, was filled with star-studded guests and emotional moments as the singer reflected on the impact of her time in Las Vegas.
Throughout the residency, Adele captivated audiences with her powerful vocals and genuine connection with her fans. On her last night, the singer became visibly emotional, tearfully addressing the crowd. “The only thing I’m good at is singing,” she said, adding, “I just don’t know when I want to next come on stage but I love you.”
Adele shared that her decision to do a residency, rather than a global tour, was largely influenced by her desire to keep her son Angelo, 11, grounded. “I chose to do a residency so I could keep his life normal,” she explained, before expressing her excitement to spend her weekends with him again. Adele’s direct words to her son, “I love you to bits,” tugged at the heartstrings of those in the audience.
The emotional farewell also included a special thank-you to her partner, Rich Paul, for his unwavering support. “Thank you for always picking me up and making me feel like I could do whatever I want to do,” she said.
Adele also reflected on a particularly meaningful moment during her residency when Celine Dion attended one of her shows. The interaction between the two iconic vocalists brought both to tears and was a moment of full-circle significance for Adele. She recalled, “It was just such a full circle moment for me because that’s the only reason I ever wanted to be in here.” She nodded toward the stage, acknowledging that The Colosseum was originally built for Dion’s own legendary Las Vegas residency, which began more than two decades ago.
Before wrapping up her emotional speech, Adele thanked her fans for their support over the past two years and admitted that while she was sad the residency was coming to an end, she was filled with immense pride. “I am so sad that this residency is over but I am so glad that it happened. I am bursting, bursting, bursting with pride,” she shared.
Adele had previously mentioned that she would be taking an extended “break” after the residency’s conclusion. In a September performance in Munich, she revealed, “I’ve spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it.” With this emotional farewell, fans were left with a sense of closure as Adele prepares for the next chapter of her life.
Weekends with Adele officially began in November 2022, and its final show marked the end of an unforgettable chapter for both Adele and her devoted audience.
