Global Citizen has officially announced that the 2025 Move Afrika tour will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, and Lagos, Nigeria, with American music icon John Legend headlining the events.

The Kigali show is set for February 21 at BK Arena, while Lagos will host its leg of the tour at The Palms on February 25. The Move Afrika tour, created in partnership with Kendrick Lamar’s entertainment company, pgLang, is part of a broader initiative to create economic opportunities for Africa’s younger generations through live music.

While many expected Ghana to be included in this year’s lineup, organizers have explained that logistical challenges surrounding the required timeline made it impossible to hold a show in Accra at this time.

In an official statement, they reassured Ghanaians of their continued commitment:

“While we had hoped to bring the Move Afrika tour to Ghana this year, the timeline needed to make an Accra show possible was not achievable for this next edition. We remain committed to Ghana and its people and look forward to bringing Move Afrika to Ghana as soon as possible.”

The Move Afrika tour has grown into a significant platform for showcasing Africa’s talent, infrastructure, and potential, with major stops across the continent planned in the coming years. Though Ghana missed out this time, fans can look forward to the country being a key destination in the future.
