ACCRA, GHANA – The Ghana Distance Education Excellence Awards (GDEEA) has officially released the full list of winners for its 2025 edition, marking another major milestone in the recognition of distance education students across the country.
Organized by Innovative Quadrant Ghana (IQGH) in partnership with the University of Cape Coast (UCC) – Distance Education Students’ Association of Ghana (DESAG), the GDEEA has grown into a premier national platform celebrating academic brilliance, leadership, creativity, sports excellence, entrepreneurship, and community impact among distance learners.
Honoring the Stars of Distance Education
Distance education is widely known for its demanding nature, requiring students to balance academics with work, family responsibilities, and personal commitments. The GDEEA was established to ensure that these hardworking individuals receive the national recognition they deserve.
The 2025 edition recorded a diverse pool of winners—from academic achievers and innovators to athletes, creatives, and student leaders—each exemplifying resilience, discipline, and excellence.

One of the standout incentives attached to the awards is a luxury reward opportunity. Winners across various categories stand a chance to enjoy a fully-expense-paid weekend stay at the VeniceView Beach Resort in Nzema, offering well-deserved relaxation in a premium beachfront environment.

The Winners Media Tour Takes Off

Following the successful awards ceremony, IQGH officially launched a nationwide Winners Media Tour to spotlight the achievements of the award recipients and reshape public perception about distance education in Ghana.
The tour kicked off at Sporty FM (106.1 MHz) on Tuesday, 13th January 2026, featuring the GDEEA Footballer of the Year, Hidila Ibrahim Sani. Hosted by seasoned broadcasters Nathan Quao and Raymond Nyamador, the interview explored the challenges of excelling in competitive sports while pursuing higher education through distance learning.
The media tour continues this Friday, 16th January, with a stop at Breeze 90.9 FM. The popular morning segment, “The Sunshine Cruise” with Sandra Asante, will host the Face of DESAG-UCC winners, celebrating a blend of confidence, leadership, intelligence, and positive student representation within the distance education system.
A Partnership Beyond Awards
Speaking on the impact of the initiative, leadership from Innovative Quadrant Ghana emphasized that the collaboration with UCC-DESAG goes beyond a ceremonial event.
“This is more than an awards night; it is a movement to rebrand distance education in Ghana. Distance learners are among the most disciplined students in the country, and this platform exists to celebrate that reality,” a representative noted.
The partnership seeks to reposition distance education as a pathway of excellence, leadership, and opportunity.
