Stonebwoy can restrict my interaction with Shatta Wale only if I’m on his payroll – MC Portfolio

Entertainment pundit MC Portfolio has spoken out about the backlash he has faced from fans of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, who have labeled him a “traitor.” The controversy stems from his perceived allegiance to Stonebwoy and interactions with Shatta Wale.

In an interview with Zionfelix on January 21, 2025, MC Portfolio clarified his stance, explaining that Stonebwoy has no authority to dictate his associations unless he is officially employed by him.

“Stonebwoy can only restrict my interactions if he employs me and puts me on his payroll as someone dedicated to promoting Bhim Nation. However, my support for him has been voluntary because of the love and respect he has shown me. It’s not about money—just mutual appreciation. I am not on Bhim Nation’s payroll, nor do I work for them full-time,” he stated.

MC Portfolio also expressed regret over publicly aligning himself so strongly with Stonebwoy’s camp, admitting that the decision has come with unexpected challenges.

“If I knew then what I know now, I would have approached things differently. I was caught up in the excitement of the support Stonebwoy was showing me and declared myself a Bhim Native without realizing the responsibilities that came with it. As a journalist, it’s my duty to cover various stories. For example, if I talk about Shatta Wale’s recent performance in Jamaica on the radio, some fans view it as a betrayal of my allegiance to Bhim Nation,” he explained.

The pundit’s comments shed light on the delicate balance between professional objectivity and loyalty in the entertainment industry. Despite the criticism, MC Portfolio maintains that his role as a journalist is to remain impartial and open to engaging with all artists.
