Following the announcement of the nominees for the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), the awards board has officially opened the ‘Errors & Omissions’ window to allow stakeholders and industry players to address any concerns or discrepancies in the nominations.

Anyone wishing to raise issues, request clarifications, or contest omissions has until Sunday, March 23, 2025, to submit their concerns via email at info@ghanamusicawards.com. The TGMA board has urged all interested parties to take advantage of this opportunity before the deadline to ensure that any valid concerns are reviewed.

Controversial Omissions Spark Debate

Since the release of the nominees on Saturday, March 15, social media has been buzzing with heated debates surrounding category placements and notable snubs. One of the most widely discussed omissions is Kojo Blak’s track “Excellent,” with many fans feeling the song deserved a spot in the Best New Artiste category. Another significant controversy is the exclusion of King Paluta’s hit song Makoma from key categories, including Most Popular Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Hiplife Song of the Year.

Fans have also raised questions about the absence of Arathejay’s song Jesus Christ, which many believe was worthy of nominations in Best Hiplife Song and Collaboration of the Year. The omission of DopeNation from the list also raised eyebrows, but the TGMA board clarified that the duo had not granted consent for their nomination, which led to their exclusion from the awards.

A Chance for Adjustments

While the criticism surrounding the nomination process continues, some believe the Errors & Omissions window provides a fair opportunity to address these concerns and make necessary adjustments. With only a few days remaining until the deadline, it remains to be seen whether any significant changes will be made to the final list of nominees.

As industry players and fans await further developments, all eyes are on the TGMA board to see if they will respond to the petitions and clarify any issues before the ceremony. The coming days could bring some interesting developments in this ongoing controversy.
