Tyla Set to Perform at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards

South African singer Tyla is set to take the stage at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, marking another major milestone in her already impressive career. The global sensation, who has captured the world’s attention with her hit songs, is also a finalist for an impressive eight awards at this year’s event.

The 2024 BBMAs, hosted by actress and comedian Michelle Buteau, will air on Thursday, December 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX, with streaming available on Paramount+ and Fire TV Channels. Tyla joins other exciting performers, including SEVENTEEN and Teddy Swims, who were the first artists announced for the event.

Her smash hit “Water” has been a chart-topping success, peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January. The song also won the inaugural Grammy for Best African Music Performance earlier this year. Tyla’s debut album, Tyla, also saw impressive success, landing at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 in April.

The artist’s recognition continues as she’s nominated for eight Billboard Music Awards in multiple categories, including:

• Top Afrobeats Song, with three of her tracks, “Truth or Dare,” “Water,” and “Jump” (featuring Gunna and Skillibeng), among the finalists.

The 2024 Billboard Music Awards will also honor the year’s biggest artists, albums, songs, producers, and songwriters across various genres, as determined by performance metrics from the Billboard charts. This year marks the return of the show to FOX, where it was originally broadcast from 1990 to 2006.

As the awards night approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating Tyla’s performance, and many more special guest announcements are expected in the coming days.
